City Unveils Renderings of New Reynoldsburg Community Center YMCA

Reynoldsburg – The public is invited to attend the unveiling of the renderings of the new Reynoldsburg Community Center YMCA on Thursday, June 28, 2018. The event, which begins at 4:00pm, will be held next to the Senior Center and Farmer’s Market in Huber Park. In addition to a viewing area for the building’s design, a small program to officially sign the lease will begin at 5:00 p.m. Visitors will also enjoy the Farmer’s Market, the YMCA’s Family Fun Factory, food and more.

The new Community Center will serve as a valuable resource to the residents of Reynoldsburg, offering a place for individuals and families to enjoy recreational activities, as well as a number of programs designed especially for youth and teens.

“After many years, Reynoldsburg is finally getting the Community Center it deserves,” said Mayor Brad McCloud. “The building will set a new standard for design and will serve as a central gathering place for our community for many years to come.”

The 57,000 SF, two-story facility will be built on 10 acres and will include administrative offices, community rooms, fitness center, gymnasium, studio space, indoor natatorium and outdoor pool, including a lazy river. “The new Community Center YMCA is a true partnership between the City of Reynoldsburg and the Y”, stated Brian Kridler, senior vice president of strategy and innovation for the YMCA of Central Ohio. “Our work together will result in programs and services for the City of Reynoldsburg that will strengthen the community.” The city of Reynoldsburg, YMCA of Central Ohio, and the project team came together to celebrate the official groundbreaking on September 28, 2017. According to Bill Sampson, Service Director, “We are so excited about this next step in the process. The center will add value to the entire community.”

The Community Center YMCA is set to open in late 2019.
