Mike Steele has enjoyed coming to the Grove City YMCA with his daughter, Mallie since 2011. Mike enjoys the healthy environment, the interaction with the YMCA staff and has been impressed with the upgrades and innovation. He felt safe in bringing his young daughter, Mallie, to learn to swim at the Grove City YMCA. Mallie soon became a deep swimmer and a smiling face in the pool.
Not only has Mike enjoyed making longtime YMCA friends, building relationships with “superfriendly staff”, both Mike and Mallie have become stronger both mentally and physically.
Mallie has been a valued member of the Grove City Volunteer Team since April, 2015 as a 4th grader. Encouraged to join the GCY Volunteers by her father, Mallie soon grew to be a confident member of the volunteer team. Mallie proved to be a quick learner on the computer and slowly began to blossom as she learned to assist the Welcome Desk staff. She has learned social responsibility and team work as she warmly greets members and guests, works with the office team and assists the managers on duty with various responsibilities around the facility.
Mike has been thrilled with the social and technical skills Mallie is learning as a Grove City YMCA Volunteer. Thank you Mallie and Mike for choosing to be a part of the YMCA Community! We appreciate you!
Vince came to yoga originally as an additional compliment to his exercise routine. He took a few years exploring various styles of yoga from restorative hatha yoga to the more athletic Ashtanga vinyasa style of yoga. After abdominal surgery and a few years off, Vince came back to yoga as a way to get back into his fitness routine. With age came a greater appreciation for the calming, centering, and stress-relieving benefits of yoga. He decided to finally get certified to teach with the hopes of inspiring a love of yoga in others. He chose to get his certification through YogaFit because he enjoys the combination of traditional yoga poses matched with breath combined with functional bodyweight exercises that can appeal to a wide range of people.
