The Learning Garden
The Hoover YMCA Learning Garden is a one-acre organic farm located at the Hoover YMCA in Lockbourne, Ohio. In 2013, we started a CSA program that provided fresh produce to area families, food pantries and local non-profits serving families in need.
The Learning Garden is also a vital part of the YMCA’s Summer Camp program. Summer Campers spend two to three hours per week in the garden learning about growing healthy foods and assisting in all aspects of food production from “seed to harvest”.
What are Community Supported Agriculture Programs?
- Subscription vegetable service.
- For a flat fee you will be provided each week with fresh, locally grown organic produce.
- Produce (based on availability) can be picked up at the Hoover YMCA Park on Thursdays beginning May 18- August 17, 2017.
The Hoover YMCA Learning Garden is a member of the Mid-Ohio Food Bank Volunteer Hub. In addition, we are an educational resource for those interested in growing healthy foods. We have regularly scheduled volunteer days and host numerous school groups and organizations looking to participate in our volunteer and outreach programs.
