Summer Enrichment
Pickaway County Family YMCA
Pickaway County Family YMCA
There is no place like the YMCA – A home away from home where kids laugh, learn, explore and grow in the outdoors, while creating memories and friendships that last a lifetime. Kids discover not just the wonders of summer but the joy of exploring their unique traits, talents and interests and the power of sharing their strengths and skills to benefit the group. That’s why more than 4,000 kids in Central Ohio attend the Y’s summer programs; to belong, achieve and build relationships.

Our Summer Enrichment program is for students entering grades K-6th. Children will spend 50% of their day outside engaged in group games and enjoying parts of their daily lessons. Lessons include science or art projects, and ample time for reading is included in our daily lessons. With additional time for fun math, history or cultural enrichment, and an assortment of games both indoors and outdoors. Program participants will have the opportunity to witness our staff demonstrate the YMCA four core values: caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We will have a blast swimming weekly at one of our local branches and will explore the community around us as we occasionally venture out on field trips related to our themes. Some weeks we will have guest speakers joining us to discuss their jobs related to the weekly themes. Staff are from one of our many child care centers who will bring in quality lessons that are part of our newly star rated Step Up To Quality Programming. Summer Enrichment is a full day program where your student can realize who they are and what they can achieve. We look forward to having your student with us this summer.

Parents look to the Y for a safe and secure environment where children can learn practical social skills and develop positive values. Our reputation for consistency and safety, as well as our focus on youth development, gives parents the confidence they need to trust us with their children.
To ensure the well-being of each child, we review our health and safety policies on an ongoing basis. Our low 1:10 staff-to-child ratio also allows our staff to give each camper the attention and guidance necessary to create a positive and safe environment.
