Types of programs we offer

We offer a variety of classes to teach your child new skills and stretch their creative muscles! Though creative classes are offered periodically at all of our locations, our Pickaway, Delaware, and Vaughn branches have especially strong art, dance and theater programs with regular class cycles. After learning about our regular classes, check our schedule to see current offerings!

Dance Classes
Offered to ages 2-18, these classes include ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, baton, extraordinary dance classes for those with special needs and we even have a dance team. Visit our [dance page] for more info on the classes we typically offer!

Art Classes
These classes are for any child who loves art, is looking for another way to express their creativity, or just wants to learn new art mediums. Each week students participate in projects that explore various art mediums. Supplies are provided. Art classes are offered on a monthly basis at the Pickaway County Family YMCA from Sept-April, and are offered periodically at our other locations!

Offered at our Pickaway location, this is a youth introductory theater class held in the Roundtown Players theater portion of Memorial Hall.  Learn the basics of Theatre, including acting, technical skills, stage design, etc. Classes are held for 6 week sessions, September through April.
>> Pickaway's local Roundtown Players also hold 4-5 plays every year with occasional roles for kids ages 12 and up, a yearly kid's production and a musical.

Pottery and Ceramics
Get your hands onto some clay at the Vaughn E. Hairston YMCA! Whether you're using a potter's wheel, the pinch-pot method, the coil method (or if you don't know what any of those terms mean yet!) you'll have a blast.

Canvas, Spirits & Spread >> Adult Class!
Once a month (usually the last Friday of the month from 6-9pm), take a minute for yourself and join our class for adults 21 & over at our Pickaway branch.  Bring your favorite alcoholic beverage and enjoy fun projects like canvas paintings and mosaic glass stepping stones.
