Be a YMCA Campaigner

Throughout the year, and especially during the Annual Campaign, we rely on our volunteers to be ambassadors and champions of our mission. This is achieved through sharing our stories, communicating our impact, connecting people to our cause and providing them the opportunity to give back to their community by volunteering and donating.

“Devon in maintenance keeps an eye out for my safety since I am mobility impaired. He has rescued me more than once and always takes time out for members. Shannon enthusiastically leads so many classes. Warm water arthritis class is keeping me out of a wheelchair. The Powell YMCA is my family!!!”

Betty M., Liberty Twp./Powell YMCA

“The YMCA offers an outstanding experience with its top-notch class offerings, exceptional instructors and welcoming community. Whether it’s high-energy workouts or strength training, there is something for everyone. The instructors are knowledgeable and motivating. The classes are included in the membership cost.”

Elizabeth K., Liberty Twp./Powell YMCA

“The YMCA staff, specifically Shannon Segreto, inspires me and motivates me to be the best version of myself. I still have a long way to go to achieve my goals, but she has been my workout guru and I am accountable to myself and the Y with her leadership.”

Mary Jean B., Liberty Twp./Powell YMCA

“I’m really excited that Charlie has a passion for education at an early age. When she leaves this building to go into a K-12 setting, she will be well-equipped. I’m super, super excited that when she transitions to kindergarten, she will not only be a student in the classroom, but a leader.”

Taja, YMCA Early Learning Center Parent

“Because of the YMCA, I have a place that I can go to that I always come out of feeling good about myself and good about the world again. There’s just so many kinds of people that come here and it’s a good community for me… I can socialize and meet people from all over, and try to get in shape again.”

Amy S., Member

“When the Y is involved in your life - throughout your life - I think you’re likely to have a much more enriching life.”

"Our family and son MJ have been incredibly blessed with equipment provided by MJ's insurance - but of course it doesn't cover everything for him to truly thrive whilst meeting his complex needs in various environments. The Equipment Loan Program has allowed us to trial an adjustable floor sitter recommended by his Occupational Therapist - giving MJ more freedom to move and increased opportunities to work on head & trunk control than what his current activity chair can do. Not to mention having more options & perspectives to help improve his overall awareness & engagement! So in a nutshell - we are grateful this fantastic program exists!"
