To bring about meaningful change, individuals need ongoing encouragement and tools. We’re here day in and day out to provide the resources our communities need to address the most pressing social issues: child welfare, education, housing, and substance abuse. We work to make sure every child, family and community has what they need to achieve their best.
Y Without Walls
Committed to the practice and integrity of work firmly rooted in community-driven empowerment and partnership, Y Without Walls initiative continue to support communities outside of YMCA walls during this critical time with initiatives such as:
- Produce Give-Aways (Every Weds)
- Community Partnerships
Homeless Shelters
The YMCA is focused on serving those most in need during this crisis with our Community Shelter Board partners. Our homeless community and supportive housing community are some of the most vulnerable. Our team is working to provide a healthy, safe living environment as well as expanding emergency shelter access to over 200 people.
Housing Services
With the YMCA of Central Ohio's supportive housing program for adult men and women, our main objective is to offer the assistance and support needed to stabilize and maintain independent housing, while providing access to those supportive services needed in order to achieve the highest possible standard of living.
ECRN+ Stable Families Program
At the Y, through our Early Childhood Resource Network + program (ECRN+), we empower families to create and maintain stable environments where children can grow and thrive. By intentionally focusing on school stability, secure and appropriate housing, and increasing household income, we aim to promote long-term family success.
Pandemic Child Care
The YMCA of Central Ohio team was proud to work with partners in the area like Action for Children to stand up pandemic childcare sites when needed during this crisis.
New American Welcome Centers
The YMCA’s New American Welcome Centers (NAWC) are designed to help immigrants—also referred to as newcomers—fully integrate into American society and prepare receiving communities to be welcoming and inclusive.
